German International School Chicago (GISC) is an independent, not-for-profit, dual-language school. GISC is accredited as a Provisional Member of ISACS and is recognized as a DSD-School by the German ZfA (Central Agency for Schools Abroad).
GISC's curriculum is taught mainly in German using a multi-cultural approach. The school welcomes students of all backgrounds and nationalities. Students learn in a supportive, individualized environment that nurtures curiosity and creativity and fosters global awareness.
Enhanced by low student-to-teacher ratios, GISC students intimately experience a wide variety of subjects, including Practical Life, Language Development, Reading and Writing, Mathematics, Geography, Biology, General Life Sciences, History, Music, Visual Arts, Performance Arts, and Sports. GISC students - fluent in German and English - will become well-rounded, responsible global citizens.
Opened in 2009, GISC offers preschool (3- and 4-year olds), kindergarten, and grades 1-4 for the 2013-2014 school year. Before and after school care are available. As the school continues to grow and expand, grades will be added through 12th grade.
While the curriculum is taught mainly in German, GISC welcomes all families who are interested and committed to global learning. To learn more about GISC or to schedule a visit, please call 773-880-8812 or email email@example.com.
