Re: This week's piece of the prize, Jan. 17
My daughter is 2 1/2 and when people ask me about her personality I say that she is literally the boss of the house. She is very bossy and in Spanish boss is jefe so I call her the jefa (female version). She bosses people around to the point that when we have family over for dinner she tells everyone where she wants them to sit at the table. I also say that she is 2 going on 20 because of some of the things she says. She isn't easily fooled. Mainly she is the jefa or I should say she thinks she is. Rosie

Jo is energetic, fun, bossy, loving, he is the man. (my lil man that is!!) Jo is always fun of energy, ready to run and play. He can be bossy with us or when there are other kids around. He likes to tell you what to do and can get really bossy if you do not do it like he said. To us it is amazing what he learns and comes up with. I always have a smile when I am with me. He has his dad call me at work, once they reach me Jo gets on the phone tells me good morning, I love you and miss you. He helps me with the bags, make sures that I am ok.

Joshua is 2 and the first term that comes to mind is independant. He is quite the explorer and very energetic and has no qualms about going off on his own to explore the great outdoors. Needless to say this makes him quite a handful!

Re: This week's piece of the prize, Jan. 17
I refer to my 4 and half year old daughter as 4 going on 14 and smart. She can write for her age, is starting to read and now when I try to spell things out to my husband, she understands. Above all of that she is already becoming quite the sassy little girl, so I can only imagine what she will be like as a teenager. My 2 and half year-old son I refer to as a handful, which I think all boys at this age are. If you turn your head for one minute, he is in the refrigerator, bathroom, trying to go outside, you name it he is doing it and he quick. Last weekend, I was in the bathroom and he managed to break open an 18 pack of eggs and was trying to “make pancakes.” So overall my children are smart, sassy, sneaky, and quick and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

I would definetly consider my son who is 7, very energentic, intelligent and very sweet and loving. My daughter who is 3 I would consider my "Little Princess". She is very lady like and gentle and caring of her brother and family. She loves to play dress up and pretend she is a princess. And let me tell you, she has always been able to walk in her heels since she was "1".

Re: This week's piece of the prize, Jan. 17
Truly, my intention is to observe my child and allow him the space and freedom to develop and change naturally. I find that when I affirm or label qualities in his personality, wanted or unwanted, I find strong evidence of those qualities which I focus upon. Therefore I am very conscientious of what I say about him. I like to call him curious because he is always inspecting people and things. I call him creative because he likes to make things out objects that are totally unrelated. I call him compassionate because he cries if someone gets hurt. I call him sweet because he will offer his last cookie.
Most importantly, I like to ask him what he thinks he about himself and I try to encourage him to maintain those thoughts of himself regardless of someone else's reaction to him. Here's an example: Once, I caught myself telling him that people were going to think he was gross if he wipes his nose on his sleeve. Then, I corrected myself and asked him if he thought it was gross to wipe his nose on his sleeve. Switching the emotion from shame to self respect felt much better to me.

Re: This week's piece of the prize, Jan. 17
When I speak of my 2 1/2 year old daughter, I say she is independent, inquisitive, funny, and a compassionate free spirit. I say independent because, quite frankly, it wouldn't be polite to call her stubborn. I use the term inquisitive because she goes beyond surface level curiosity to the point where her explorations serve a distinct purpose in her mind. As for funny, that's self-explanatory. And finally, I say she is a compassionate free spirit because she is! She loves to snuggle, will stick-up for others, will play in a group but is also content to play alone, and has no stranger anxiety (unfortunately), and appears to have her own opinions about things. In my mind I believe she is smart, pretty, neat, easily frustrated, demanding, and a host of other positive and negative traits but try very hard to not label her with temporary terms. Anything I say to others I try to think is what she will be like throughout her life.

I when people ask me about Gabe I say that he's our Dr. Dolittle. He's always talking to our pet dog and other furry animals! He could have a 15 min conversation with the dog!

Re: This week's piece of the prize, Jan. 17
Both of my sons are very much alike despite the big age difference, My older son is 10 and my younger son is 2. They are both very very smart and very independent and helpful. My 2 year son when he wants a snack will go into the fridge and get what he wants, my older son will make his own after school snack. They both love to change their clothes about 3 times a day! Doing laundry is an all day thing for us. They are a big help around the house, My little one helps put his toys away and my other son helps out with doing chores and keeping his room clean. Another word I would use to label my boys is PERFECT!

Re: This week's piece of the prize, Jan. 17
My son is only 4 1/2 months old and though I know it's bound to change, right now the word we most use to describe him is Angel! Aside from a few fussy periods now and then, this child couldn't be any easier. However, his father was downright impish as a toddler and continued to grow more and more mischievous as he grew, getting him into much trouble throughout the years. I'm enjoying the angelic stage while I can! We also think it may be more appropriate to call him "the decoy" since so many have shared with us stories of perfect first-borns, only to find that the next in line was quite the challenge! Regardless, we can't wait to watch and see how our angel baby grows and develops his own little personality!

Re: This week's piece of the prize, Jan. 17
I have three girls with very different personalities and characteristics. My oldest is creative, imaginative, and has a very sweet and helpful nature. My middle daughter is our empathetic introvert - very diligent, respectful, and very smart. My youngest is outgoing, funloving free spirit and can be a little mischevious - she is likes to antagonize her sisters. Unique in so many respects, but together there is no mistaking they are sisters.

Re: This week's piece of the prize, Jan. 17
Hello!! I use the following labels for my sons: - Loud (esp. my middle child, Max)
- Smart (all 3 are brilliant!)
- Thoughtful (Damian in particular is extremely thoughtful and considerate, but Max is as well)
- Charming (Max)
- Inquisitive (Ian, almost a year old)
That's just a start...I could go on forever!
Don't take life too seriously. You'll never get out of it alive.

My son Aiden is very smart, happy, loving, and curious. He is only 2 but he is so outgoing and I don't think there is room the this message box for all the great labels my son Aiden is.
