If my son were a sea creature, he’d be a dolphin because he’s lovable, playful, very sociable, and creative. At 18 months, play time is an important part of his day. He dances & sways to music, & began Music Together Classes at 6 months. He’s friends with all the kids in his Toddler Classroom, and plays with them on the playground twice a day. Additionally, he loves water play. At 2 months old, I introduced him to the swimming pool. Since then, I take him frequently to the pool, pushing him in his boat, letting him throw floatable balls in the pool and swim over to pick them up, and now he likes to jump to me from the edge of the pool. He smiles and laughs when mom sings to him and lets him splash in the water. He also enjoys baths in his yellow inflatable rubber duckie. He plays with cups and colenders, seeing how much water one cup can hold before running over and likes to transfer water from one cup to the other.
Like a dolphin, he is creative and a problem solver, although he likes to invent problems for himself to solve. He tries to take things apart & creatively put them back together, and experiment on new ways to make things fit together. He received a train for Christmas and every night pulls the train tracks apart, & tries to put them back together. He also loves to pull the pegs out of his cobbler bench & put them back in while tipping the bench to its side. Furthermore, I am forever pulling balls out of toys where they don’t belong.
My son, like a dolphin, is lovable, playful, very sociable, and a creative, problem solver.
