Savings accounts are offered from nearly every bank with an average national rate of around 2%. Make sure you're aware of any minimum balances or monthly fees on your account. These fees can add up and eat into the interest you earn monthly from the account, you should be able to find accounts that have no fees and low minimum balances. Opening a bank account is usually a good thing, but you shouldn't be opening up too many. Some banks may see you opening up too many and may think you are trying to commit fraud. Try to keep yourself limited to less than 2-3 savings accounts. It is better also because you won't have to worry about the minimum balances or monthly fees, better for your organization!
You should try to save as much money as you can, while still having money to meet your needs (such as food, entertainment, etc.)
