My kids would say their dad is someone to give them horsy rides and various others. They love when he's home on the weekend to give them tons of rides til he's dizzy!

I asked my 6 year old what a dad is. He first said "A dad is a dad!" like telling me duh! Then he said its someone who loves you and takes care of you. My 4 year old said "someone who hits you when you be bad". lol. Their answers were basically about the person who takes care of you and makes sure that everything you need is done. My older son still thinks his brothers father who raised him is more of his dad then his real father. So it doesnt have to be the man who gave you life.

For my kids, Dad is the one who is home with them during the day while I am work.  He is the one who has taught them to find they eyes and their ears, their mouth and their nose.  He's taught them songs and their ABC's and 123's.  They love their time with him, but I know he treasures it more.
