Get your Adler prize pack here

You don't have to be an astronaut to visit the moon. Through the month of April, five Chicago Parent readers will have a chance to win family five packs each week to go see "Fly Me to the Moon" at Adler Planetarium, 1300 S. Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, as well as general admission to the planetarium. To win, we'll post a different question to answer here every week. For this week, we want to know what your least favorite bug is and why. Post your answer here, then e-mail your answer, name and your Chicago Parent ID to e-dition at chicagoparent dot com. You must post and e-mail us for your answer to be counted. We will not release your information-it is purely for contact purposes. Some answers may appear in Chicago Parent magazine. Winners will be chosen at random and may have no affiliation with Wednesday Journal Inc. or its employees.

This contest is now closed. If you didn't win this week, try again next week to win tickets to Adler. Thanks to everyone who participated.

Our least favorite bug is the mosquito!  Just as soon as the weather becomes gorgeous at night, they are there to make things difficult.  Thankfully, there are products out there to help protect us.  It's scary to be out unprotected due to the West Nile issue.  I remember counting how many bites we had as kids, almost proud of them.  Those days are over!  I'm sure God has a purpose for the those critters but I still can't stand them!

My least favorite bug is the *** roach because when I was a little girl my mom brought me to her friends house and when we walked in they were covering the walls! I never forgot it!

I completely dislike all bugs, if I see a bug in my house, we have a complete shut down and clean the root cause...

I hate ants the most out of all bugs because they travel in packs and it's hard to get rid of them.  I try home remedies like vinegar and hot sauce and poison bait, but nothing seems to drive them away.  With the warm months ahead, I am already ant proofing my home – Hope this works!

I've learned to appreciate that most creatures, including (and often, especially!) bugs, are very important to the ecosystem.  That said, I can't imagine the benefit of the pesky mosquito.  There's way too many - and out and about when we most want to be enjoying the outdoors.  They're an annoying hard-to-avoid nuisance in so many ways.  So the mosquito definitely gets my vote as least favorite bug (and my family agrees)!

My least favorite bug is the "roach".  As a child, there was an infestation of roaches in my neighborhood.  Everyone who lived on the block had roaches in their homes.  The situation was completely out of control.  One night my mother was hosting dinner and as everyone gathered around the dinner table admiring the wonderful food awaiting us, a horrible thing happened.  You guessed it - a roach was walking around the table also getting ready to eat dinner.  Do I need say more?  I have not seen a roach in about 25 years since and despise the fact of coming across one again.

My least favorite bug..... that's tough- there are so many! The mosquito has to be at the top of the list. So many gorgeous summer nights a ruined because no matter what we try we have to go in due to mosquitos biting. Many a marshmallow roast or outdoor game have bee called short due to kids being eaten allive!

My least favorite bug is the daddy long legs. I am unsure if that is their real name, they are just gross and move way to fast for you to catch them.

My least favorite bug is a spider.  There is something about all those legs moving that gives me the creepy crawlies, no matter the size.  I have been known to hop out of a car if I see one.  I have even left my house and went to my mother's house because one was hanging in the doorway into the house.

My least favorite bug is a spider!! All kinds of spiders - big or small. They just freak me out and they have such creepy legs!!  I can't even stand to get close enough to them to get rid of them! I have to have my husband or son do it. Yuck!

Re: Get your Adler prize pack here

We have a house of 4 girls (me included) so any thing with 8+ legs make us scream!  It is hard to pick one that is my least favorite.  I guess the one that makes me scream the loudest - is the house centipede.  It has 15 very long thread like legs and they tend to come into our house in late fall when it really starts to get cold.  They are super fast and give me the creepy crawler shivers when I see them.  I am ok killing spiders, but the house centipede is too large and ugly - I have to call in my husband for those!

    Kate Pancero:

First time user........sorry.  Least favorite bug...........Japenese Beatle.  Lovely little stinkers look like a lady bug, but swarm like a bee.  The first time I encountered them was in Phelps Wisconsin (way north)  they had taken over, I mean taken over the trailer that sat on my boyfriends land up there.  I was a good sport, cause I am a bit of a rough and tumble gal.  Outhouse only, no showers............but when those suckers were diver bombing at night I knew then that I was more of a wimp then I ever knew.  So beware of the cute lady lookalike......she is a B.....
