What do you do when the temperature drops and it's Christmas time? Head outdoors, of course!
A few weekends ago we took our daughter Lincoln Park's annual Zoo Lights with one of her buddies & his family. It's our third year attending with this family and we think it now counts as a tradition. Considering that our kids are both 4 years old, yeah, 3/4 of their lives is a tradition.
This year Santa was moved from the monkey house to the Lion house and it looked great! Pictured here is just part of the jungle theme for Santa's perch. And this year, it is a great perch. Not just a chair, but an actual stage with spotlights and many Santa-hatted animals. There were also tables with crafts for the kids to make ornaments, buttons, & get temporary tattoos. Thus lots of kid-friendly activities abound!
While it is super cold outside, I suggest heading out to Zoo Lights. We spent less than 2 hours at the zoo, but it was well worth it. The activities are mostly inside (snow globes are outside) so don't worry about the cold too much. Plus, it's just too fun to see Santa next to the lions. Not to mention that the snack bar near the seal pool serves s'mores!
