Boys will be boys, which basically means that if you're the parent of one, their boundless energy and activity level runs on an especially high-quality octane.
That's how it is around here anyway. Half the time, I feel like I'm the mother of a long lost relative of the Energizer Bunny.
And, with all that on-the-go, endless action comes the attention span of a gnat.
That is of course, unless something really grabs their attention.
And for a little boy to sit down with one thing for an extended period of time, that something better be pretty darn cool.
Meet cool: Big Stuff Board Books from Big Guy Books.
Their awesome collection of toddler-sized, heavy-duty board books are filled with boy-oriented goodies like gigantic earthmovers (shown at top left, Giant Earthmovers, $7.95), firetrucks, police cars, tractors, tropical fish (shown at bottom right, Sea Creatures, $7.95), bugs, dinosaurs, race cars and tractors.
And while there's lots of books out there that have enough wheels, sirens and lights in them to outfit a fleet of vehicles - and enough tentacles and slime to give the gang of Ghostbusters a perfectly good reason to make a comeback - Big Guy Books adds an unexpected twist in the form of true-to-life cinematic imagery turned photographic-quality illustrations that seem to come with everything any little boy could possibly want to eat, sleep and breathe.
Well, everything but the exhaust that is.
