Gathering round the table for an evening meal might start to look less like ringside seats at a wrestling match, and more like .... well, dinner, with fresh, organic food from pomme bebe.
This posh purveyor of good eats for babies and tots six months and up has a fresh seasonal menu filled with frou-frou sounding dishes like Chicken Asparagus Orzo, Spinach Tabouleh and Turkey Bolognese for more advanced nibblers, and offers basic blends and purees made up of cauliflower, carrots, pears, apples and more, for those just getting used to the idea that not all meals come courtesy of mommy's chest.
Based in Newport Beach, California - anyone surprised? - pomme bebe is already home to a swanky bebe-lounge and bebe-tasting bar (I wonder if little Suri and Shiloh chill there?) and specializes in simmering pure, organic ingredients in small batches to create options that are easy to heat and eat for busy families.
Every meal is flash frozen and shipped overnight on Thursdays in environmentally-friendly packaging (big thumbs up for that), that's free of yucky pthalates and bisphenol-A, too.
Don't feel bad about outsourcing either, because you know you'd be whipping this stuff up yourself if you had mad skills like Martha ... and her amount of free time .... and her team of sous chefs.
Cosmomama says there's more in the details:
Wills played guinea pig for this delish experiment, and loved the fruit purees best, hands down.
I played around with the texture and temperature to be creative and would serve it chilled like sorbet or warm like cobbler. We also sampled the turkey meatballs, chicken pot pie and an assortment of veggies.
Um, yum!
Wills isn't a huge fan of meat - ok, so he hates it - so those options didn't go over well, but I sure liked em!
The only caveat I found was that some of the foods contain wheat, which could be a problem for kiddies on the sensitive side of food allergies, but, pomme bebe lists all of the ingredients for its dishes online (except for one or two - not sure why), so parents can check before chewing.
Another upside? Most are gluten free!
