Cosmotot

All's Well that Ends Dwell

As far as being a modernly minded mama goes, I don't know that I'm exactly the first person you'd think of as a poster parent for the movement.

A cheerful, motley, comfortable and completely approachable bohemian combination of all things artfully eclectic, fashioned with vintage style and a contemporary twist is more my thing, and is reflected throughout every aspect of our home from the playroom to the bathroom.

It's not that I don't like the land of ultra mod (which I have a tendency to associate with smooth steel and large red dots or black no-nonsense trimmings).

On the contrary, its starkness intimidates my sense of smorgasbord living and its harshness can oftentimes make me feel like I'm stifling my creativity.

But not at Dwell Studio. This Cosmotot fave home furnishings and more emporium embraces the contemporary while appealing to mamas like me with its softer approach, and bold yet playfully whimsical patterns, especially when it comes to its exclusive For Baby Collection.

A Cosmotot pick I'm currently lusting over are the gloriously urban Transportation Multi Weekender (shown at top left, $265 - available in other styles, including Charlotte, Dots and Gio), that's big enough to carry baby's every possible need ... and maybe even baby.

For the chic looking for less to schlep,The Transportation Multi Diaper Tote (not shown, $185) offers a more compact version of the Weekender without missing a beat (or should I say a "beep") in the style department.

But there's more than just bags and totes to be had. Think wall decor, boudoir pillows, crib bedding, bibs and toys, too.

Dwell's warm and toasty, light-weight, fully machine washable Hooded Towels (shown at right in the Garden Blossom pattern, $51 - also available in the Transportation pattern among others) feature two layers - a soft inner layer to keep baby dry, and an outer layer that repels water - and make for a fabulous baby shower gift for little dudes and divas in the making.

And, Dwell's luxurious Cashmere Silk Knit Icon Paper Doll Blanket in Petal (shown at bottom left, $144 - also available in Cars, Florette and Helicopter styles) will definitely be another one for the wish list, since it does nothing but wrap tender tootsies, tummies and all that glorious baby teeniness in surprisingly light yet cozy lusciousness.

Only baby's bum is softer.
