For some reason, lots of “kid” foods come in tubes, from yogurt to those push-up popsicles that are always a summer staple. FruitaBu Fruit Sploooshers from the Stretch Island Fruit Company are tubes of pureed organic fruit designed to be a healthy snack for kids and adults alike. The consistency is similar to applesauce and the raspberry flavor definitely tastes more like raspberry-flavored applesauce than raspberries alone. Of course, apples are listed in the ingredients, so the taste isn’t totally surprising. We also tried the strawberry and grape varieties and those did not have the same overwhelming apple taste. They were all pretty tasty and the packaging makes them super easy to transport. You can serve them room temperature, chilled or frozen (we prefer chilled since the sugars in the fruit can crystallize when the snacks are frozen), but beware of the expiration date since the Sploooshers can spoil just like regular fruit.
