Oddly enough, sippy cups have been a topic of conversation at home lately. Although my husband and I are still waiting to meet our first little one, friends of ours have a 1-year-old who has been struggling with the transition from bottle to sippy cup. After several tearful weeks of going back and forth between the hated sippy cup and the beloved bottle, the little guy seems to be doing better. He does still need help getting the last few ounces out of the sippy cup by himself, though, and that’s the problem the Tilty sippy cup by Kiley Madison, Inc. looks to solve. The inside of the Tilty is slanted, making it easier for toddlers to get those last few sips.
Our testing mom tried out the Tilty with her 17-month-old daughter and said that the tilting part worked well—she didn’t have to tilt her head as far back to drink everything in the 7-ounce cup. Unfortunately, the cup has one serious drawback—it’s not spill proof. That means that when her daughter dropped the cup or knocked it over, any liquid inside leaked out. I may not be a mom just yet, but the spill proof feature of most sippy cups seems to be one of the main selling points. If your toddler is overly frustrated at not being able to drink the entire contents of his sippy cup, or if he just doesn’t like to tilt his head, this product could be helpful. Just beware of spills.
The Tilty retails for $2.49. For more information visit www.abettersippycup.com.
